Kingdom Tower can basically be called an initial step of the $ 20 billion mega project. With this huge amount, a blueprint for settling a modern city in Saudi Arabia was drawn. The Kingdom Tower is a part of the same, which is in the heart of the new city. According to the initial plan, the size of this city was 23 square kilometers, which was later reduced to 5.2 square kilometers for some reasons.

Significantly, in 2011, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia had announced the plan for ‘Jeddah Tower’. At that time it was said that it will be completed within 36 months of its construction work only. By November 2014, the tower was ready till the four-story foundation.

But due to economic fluctuations in the middle, its speed was slow. At the moment, its construction is expected to be completed by 2018. If this happens then this tower will open to people till 2019-20.

The Kingdom Tower is being called the world’s most attractive mega-tower. There are also reasonable reasons behind this.

  • First, its height is being considered more than one kilometer. Initially, it was kept 1.6 kilometers, but due to lack of geology, it was reduced to 1 kilometer.
  • Secondly, it is designed by famous architect Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill. In this sense, it is considered to be full-blown.

The main credit for settling this Kingdom Tower goes to Prince Alwaleed bin Talal of Saudi Arabia.

This tower will be used primarily as a residential hotel. This tower will be in the area of 245,000 square meters, with 200 rooms for the office, four seasons hotels, 121 service apartments and 360 residential apartments.

There is an outer veranda with a width of 30 meters in front of the hotel’s 157th floor. The plan was to use it mainly as a helipad. But, later changed.
